    use the PC suite and install the base software on a SD - it is free.
    The PC suite can be downloaded here http://198.252.67.33/Download/DS708/sys/MaxiDAS_PC_Suit.zip

    You only have to pay for the car updates and a copy of an other device will not work on yours.
